Zach Braff Premieres New Comedy Play in Manchester

Famous for his roles in Scrubs and Garden State, American star Zach Braff is quickly making it known that there is much more to him than most people recognise. His new ‘morbidly funny’ comedy play, 'All New People', is set to hit the stage in the UK for the first time in February – and he’s chosen Manchester to premiere!

With an award winning cast including Eve Myles (Gwen in Torchwood, Merlin, Dr Who) and Susannah Fielding (Wallander, Dr Who, Pete Versus Life), Braff is eager to show off his witty and contemporary play: Set in the winter gloom in his friends’ luxury Long Beach Island apartment, Charlie (Braff) has hit rock bottom on his 35th birthday. His plan for peace and escape is soon interrupted by a motley crew – including a fireman, a hired beauty and eccentric British real estate agent desperately trying to stay in the country – who suddenly make Charlie’s life much more interesting, much to his annoyance.

All New People will be directed by the award-winning Peter DuBois and is being premiered at the Opera House as part of Manchester Gets It First, Ambassador Theatre Group’s dedication to creating Manchester into the UK’s official city for launching theatre’s new productions. Let’s hope that Braff’s play will lead the way for many more premieres in our area!

All New People will be performing from Wednesday 8th February – Saturday 11th February. The event will start at 7.30pm each night, with the Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost: £12 - £29.50 and can be bought by calling 0844 872 3018 or by clicking here.
